Saturday, November 7, 2009. This past summer Troop 101 sent 9 scouts and 3 adults to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. We spent 10 days on the trail backpacking, camping, and having one heck of a time. In total we hiked over 90 miles! Here we are on our day of departure,the Tooth of Time in the background. Thursday was filled with animals and we are not even talking about the boys. The boys spent the day at the National Zoo seeing panda, tigers and more. Many of them also took their first subway ride, taking the Metro from Maryland into the city, transferring and taking another subway to the zoo! Everybody was well behaved and had a good time.
